Sworn To Vengeance Courtlight Book 7 eBook Terah Edun Reviews
I wish the final book in the series was already available. I like the characters and the story line but am frustrated in how little progress is made in each book.
This is one series where I would read the last book to see if it's worth the time, money and effort to read all the books in between.
I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, there is more of a plot and purpose than in the previous book, and the editing problems that plagued the beginning of the series are all but gone. Those points alone are worth a 10 star review.
What I didn't like was the continued focus on Ciardis' emotional turmoil. This book, along with the last one, is more like her diary than an engaging story. I really enjoy the world the author created, the characters introduced, and the potential each story has. Instead of a great adventure though, we get a self absorbed, self centered, useless Ciardis in a daze pitying herself chapter after chapter after chapter. Then a secondary character gets her attention long enough to bring about the next part of the plot before they end up in a fight for something stupid, shallow, and/or oblivious Ciardis said.
Despite that, I truly am hooked and curious about where the story and all the characters will end up. I just wish Ciardis would get a clue, get over herself, or disappear for awhile.
The courtlight series has never disappointed me, aside from waiting for the next book to be released. Book 7 was just as great as the others. (Trying my best not to spoil anything) However feel that the ending was rushed. It was like, ok lets take our time to get where we need to be. Then WHAM rolling out. Would have loved it to be stretched another few pages. But all in all GREAT book. Cant wait for the 8th, which I have confirmed with Rachel, Terahs assistant, that there will be an 8th!!
In the Courtlight series, author Terah Edun creates an alternate reality with dragons and mages and griffins, oh my! Imperial court drama, skirmishes, deception, with a girl grown to woman as the central figure, you will get caught in the web she weaves. I got the first book for free, but soon found myself purchasing each successive book as soon as I finished the last. I look forward to finishing the series (but not too soon) and to seeing what else Terah Edun has in store!
After a very slow start where I literally wanted to just go take a bath after 1st getting out of Ciardis head as she slowly thinks and brings us up to speed. There must be a shorter way. If you are a fan, you know the storyline and are ready for some action. If you are a new reader check out the books at your bookstore as the story is so much better told in sequence. That said once the action and story start it is true Terah Edun from the get go. I enjoyed all of the twists and turns and the plot was fabulous. The wait was worth it and already looking forward to the next adventure of the triad.
The plot is not as deep as I prefer, but I definitely want to know what's going to happen next while reading this series. I almost docked to three stars just because of the distraction of all the grammatical and wrong-word errors. PLEASE HIRE A GOOD EDITOR. It would have made the books so much better! Nothing like stumbling across nonsense in the middle of a tense moment... I noticed that the errors have increased with each novel in this series. I almost dread to see how many are in the next.
This was a very anticipated book for myself. I love this series! I was a tiny bit disappointed however, it only took me a couple hours to read, I had hoped it would have been longer. It didn't go far enough and left me personally miffed. Don't get me wrong, it's a great read! It/they (the books) always leave you hanging and waiting impatiently for the next one never giving you the answers you need/want. I am already gritting my teeth waiting for the next book. Do they get home? Do they take the wyverns head or will Terris rideit back alive? What will the king do? Will the bond be broken with everyone surviving? So many questions!!!!!
You really HAVE TO GET THE BOOK!!!
