Would you fight for what’s rightfully yours…

Jim Finch hasn’t seen his hometown, Featherville, for a year – and a lot has changed in that time.

Nesters have been pouring into the valley, settling on ranches and claiming them as their own.

That’s where the trouble begun.

The nesters are getting bolder every day, but the ranchers intend to defend the land they own – whatever it takes.

Finch’s path crosses with that of Sam Broadner, a threatening and greedy man, desperate to seize control of the land.

But that’s not the only problem Finch has on his hands.

His young ward, Sheila, is left heartbroken when she declares her true feelings for Finch and is rebuffed.

Devastated, Sheila sets about selling her half of the Seven Up ranch in a deliberate move to ruin Finch and satisfy her desire for revenge.

Taking things a step further, she agrees to marry Finch’s arch-enemy, Felderman.

Can Finch stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life?

Can he claim the land that is rightfully his, whilst preventing Broadner’s bloodthirsty plans?

A tense story of murder, ruthless violence and no-holds-barred vengeance that meets an epic conclusion in Six-Gun Serenade. The perfect western adventure for fans of the classic Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey.

He's come home to his ranch after being away for a year. What he finds is trouble. There's a new guy in town buying up land and he's trying to take it legally or by force. Jim's claim is legal and he's not going to give up his ground. The other guy is not beyond playing dirty and things heat up quickly.

Pioneering Press gave me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you). It's available now on Amazon.

One thing that really puts Jim in a bind is that the girl he's the guardian of has decided she's in love with him. He considers himself her big brother and won't consider her otherwise. She gets mad, then she gets even. She's going to sell her part of the property.

With fighting for his ranch and his life, he doesn't have much time to worry about her. He's even willing to let her sell the land and go off to a new life, he just wishes she hadn't chosen the man she did for a husband.

Greed has been around for a long time and that's what's driving the other man in his attempt to buy the whole area around this dry lake. When Jim figures out his angle, he tries to get the other ranchers to take a stand. They're scared and are hesitant.

The thing that tickled me about this story was that as time goes on and Sheila realizes just what a con man her "fiance" is, she grows up a bit. It's a long hard road home and a good fight before things get resolved. You had to be tough in the old west...

This is an excellent book. Full of excitement and very well written. Comp!ex characters and a great storyline. I highly recommend this book.
Another top-notch classic western for people like me who love Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey. This is a tense story of murder, ruthless violence and no-holds-barred vengeance.

Jim Finch has been away from his home town for a year. And in that time nesters have been pouring into the area, settling on ranches and claiming them for themselves. But the ranchers are determined to defend what is theirs...and that's where the trouble begins.

Of course there is a little woman trouble thrown in as well, and this one wants revenge after being spurned by Finch.

Full of action, Six-Gun Serenade is an excellent read and is to be recommended to western fans.

Thank you to Goodreads and Endeavour Press for a digital ARC of Six-Gun Serenade in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Wow! I love a good western, and SIX-GUN SERENADE by Mason Macrae hit the mark. The characters, even though some were full of jealousy, while others tried to control every situation, and were just down right untrustworthy, and yes, murder might even be involved, were so realistic, they actually made me angry just reading about them. I was rooting for Finch and his Seven Up ranch all the way. But he and Sheila Warn, his ward, were slowly heading for trouble. Is sabotage in the works? Will Sheila turn against Finch and turn toward Horace Felderman? What will happen with the Seven Up ranch? Will it wind up on the wrong side of the fence because of her? If so, will Finch find out and fix the problem before it is too late, and get the girl and the ranch, or will everything blow up in his face and take him with it? Therefore losing both? This great shoot-um up adventure kept me on the edge of my seat as I waited with baited breath what was up around the bend. In my opinion, a must read!!
Good read enjoyed it
Excellent story with a great cast of characters. Moved along nicely except for all the excessive and incorrect punctuation that trips you up while reading. Definitely worth a read.
Written in the 1950's, it has some very politically incorrect sentences here and there because, well, that's the way we were back then. Otherwise, this story was written with a fast moving plot and lots of action. The hero is one step ahead of everyone and gets a lot of lucky breaks. His lady-friend is vindictive and cruel most of the time and I thought he should dump her - of course he doesn't. It's strictly old-fashioned with the lust for land at the root of the plot. A bunch of crooked business men and clueless followers abound. Women play a major part of the story. No foul language, but some fights, gun play and killings here and there. Overall, a good western book.
